Are you interested in leading a team of four to North Carolina in March/April 2007?
Do you know younger people who would be interested in becoming team members?
District 1230 is looking for a Group Study Exchange team leader to go to District 7690, North Carolina next year. The team leader must be a Rotarian within District 1230, who is capable of leading a team to ably represent District 1230. There is no upper age restriction on the team leader, but you must be fit enough to cope with the rigours of being generously hosted. It is a wonderful opportunity for any Rotarian to experience a different country and culture, and stay in the homes of fellow Rotarians.
The team will be hosted in North Carolina for 4 weeks, and will give a presentation at District 7690 annual conference, as well as presentations to selected clubs throughout the District. All travel to North Carolina will be paid for by Rotary International. Visits will be arranged by the host Rotarians to see sights of interest, and workplaces of relevance to the vocational interests of team members.
The four team members will comprise of business/professional people over 25 years of age, below 40 years of age. Ideally they should be employed in their chosen occupation for at least 2 years. Team members cannot be wives, husbands, sons or daughters of Rotarians, but can be friends, work colleagues, or other near relations. It is a wonderful opportunity for any young business person or professional to further their experience and career.
The team leader and team members alike will gain great personal rewards from the experience. It is hard work being a team leader and team member, but it is also a lot of fun, and very rewarding. Details of GSE are available on www.rotary.org.
