SHELTER BOX APPEAL - TSUNAMI IN THE SOLOMONS

The Solomon Islands have been badly hit by an earthquake which was quickly followed by a tsunami..
Reports from the region indicate that some of the thousands left homeless by the tsunami ventured back into the devastated Solomon Islands town of Gizo today (Tuesday) picking their way through rickety buildings in search of food and water. .
Our own District Governor’s club, The Rotary Club of Largs, is twinned with the Rotary Club of Stones Corner in Brisbane Australia. The two clubs have been working together on various projects on the islands and the Australians have advised that there is an immediate and urgent need for Shelter Boxes. .
Neil has been in touch with Shelter Box and understands that 200 boxes will be shipped on Thursday to Brisbane and then onto Gizo. However Shelter Box needs more money urgently and have appealed to Rotary for assistance - so please try and help.
